Missouri General Assembly urges U.S. Congress to reinstate mandatory country-of-origin labeling (COOL) for beef and pork products

Congress passed mandatory COOL for muscle cuts and ground meat in 2008, but repealed it in 2015 following a World Trade Organization case brought by Canada and Mexico

Foreign beef and pork can currently be labeled "Product of the USA" if only processed or packed in the United States, even if not born, raised, or slaughtered domestically

Resolution directs the Chief Clerk to send copies to each member of Missouri's Congressional delegation
