Creates first-degree community endangerment (Class C felony) when a person stores a firearm where an unauthorized person may access it and that person causes personal injury or death with the firearm

Creates second-degree community endangerment (Class D felony) when an unauthorized person accesses an unsecured firearm and discharges it, displays it publicly in an intimidating manner, or uses it to commit a crime

Defines "unauthorized person" as anyone prohibited from possessing a firearm under state or federal law

Provides defenses including: firearm was in secure storage or had a trigger lock; unauthorized person was a supervised minor with parental permission; firearm was used in lawful self-defense; or firearm was stolen and reported to law enforcement within five days
