Peace officers first licensed on or after August 28, 2027, must complete 9 hours of training on racial profiling prohibition, increased from the current 6-hour requirement

Training hours are divided equally: 3 hours of racial profiling training, 3 hours of implicit bias training, and 3 hours of de-escalation training (each increased from 2 hours)

Training must promote understanding and respect for racial and cultural differences and effective, noncombative law enforcement methods in diverse environments

Amends Section 590.040, RSMo, while maintaining existing minimum basic training requirements of 600 hours for peace officer licensure
