The Open Payments database notice must reference the federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act, which requires disclosure of payments over $10 from drug, device, and biologics manufacturers to physicians and teaching hospitals

Non-compliant physicians face discipline by the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts; physicians working in hospital emergency departments are exempt from these requirements
