Canine search and rescue teams are added to the list of organizations whose vehicles may operate as emergency vehicles on Missouri streets and highways, alongside fire departments, ambulance associations, and rescue squads

Vehicles operated by canine search and rescue team members may use warning sirens and fixed, flashing, or rotating blue lights when responding to or at the scene of emergency calls requiring search and rescue operations

Sirens and blue lights may only be used in bona fide emergencies, and operators must obtain written permits from the chief of their organization

Violation of the emergency vehicle and lighting provisions constitutes a class A misdemeanor
