School districts and charter schools must adopt written lactation accommodation policies by July 1, 2027, extending the previous deadline of July 1, 2022

Lactating employees, teachers, and students must receive a minimum of three opportunities per school day to express breast milk or breastfeed, with accommodations available for at least one year following childbirth

Each school building must provide a private, secure room (not a restroom) with a lockable door, ventilation, work surface, chair, electrical outlets, and proximity to a sink and refrigerator for breast milk storage

Lactating students cannot incur academic penalties for using these accommodations during the school day

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education must develop a model policy meeting these requirements by January 1, 2027
