Public school districts and charter schools are prohibited from requiring students to agree with DEI statements, answer DEI-related questions, or using such responses in grading or academic advancement decisions

Schools cannot require instructional employees or job applicants to agree with DEI statements or answer DEI questions during hiring, employment, or performance evaluations including promotions and tenure decisions

Incentives, benefits, or grants for DEI-related coursework or professional development must be equally available to those participating in non-DEI activities

The attorney general, prosecuting attorneys, or circuit attorneys may bring civil actions including injunctive relief against schools for violations

Parents may sue school districts for violations causing harm to their child and may recover court costs, attorney's fees, and other damages if they prevail
