Employers may pay employees under 18 years of age a minimum wage of $12.30 per hour, compared to the standard minimum wage of $13.75 (effective January 1, 2025) and $15.00 (effective January 1, 2026)

The minor wage rate of $12.30 per hour remains fixed and is not subject to the annual cost-of-living adjustments that applied to the standard minimum wage through December 31, 2024

If the federal minimum wage exceeds either the standard or minor wage rates, the higher federal rate automatically becomes the applicable minimum

Public employers (state agencies, cities, counties, school districts, and other political subdivisions) must comply with these minimum wage provisions beginning August 28, 2025
