Certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) may select, issue orders for, and administer controlled substances in Schedules II, III, IV, and V while providing anesthesia care to patients in licensed facilities

CRNAs are not authorized to prescribe controlled substances under this provision; authority is limited to administration during anesthesia care

CRNAs are exempted from needing to obtain a certificate of controlled substance prescriptive authority from the board of nursing to exercise this administration authority

Advanced practice registered nurses (excluding CRNAs) retain existing authority to prescribe Schedule III, IV, and V substances, with limited Schedule II authority restricted to hydrocodone-containing medications and hospice patients

Amends Section 195.070, RSMo, adding a new subsection specifically addressing CRNA controlled substance administration authority
