Eliminates the requirement that deputy boiler inspectors have at least 5 years of experience in construction, installation, inspection, operation, maintenance, or repair of high pressure boilers and pressure vessels

Removes the qualification that candidates must have worked as a mechanical engineer, steam operating engineer, boilermaker, or boiler inspector

Eliminates the requirement that deputy inspectors pass an examination under section 650.250

Retains only the requirement that deputy inspectors be employed by the director and report to the chief inspector
