Creates the Healthier School Initiative within the Office of Healthy Schools to align with the USDA's HealthierUS School Challenge program and promote healthier school environments.

Provides financial awards to schools receiving HUSSC recognition: $2,000 for Bronze, $4,000 for Silver, $6,000 for Gold, and $8,000 for Gold Award of Distinction, funded up to $200,000 from legislative appropriations or grants.

Requires participating schools to enroll as Team Nutrition Schools, offer nutritious reimbursable lunches, provide nutrition education and physical activity, and adhere to USDA Food and Nutrition Service guidelines.

Mandates local school districts post HealthierUS School Challenge information on their websites and establishes that the Office of Healthy Schools must review and approve applications before forwarding them to the USDA.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
