Office of Healthy Schools of the State Department of Education must provide comprehensive training to superintendents, business managers, food service directors, and food service managers (or their designees) on marketing healthy foods, creating healthy cafeteria environments, and effective food service operations.

Department of Education may determine the time, location, and frequency of required trainings.

Persons with Food Service Administrator III or IV certification are exempt from training requirements.

Local school districts may adopt rules and regulations more stringent than state standards but not in conflict with State Board of Education regulations on Child Nutrition School Breakfast and Lunch Programs.

Act takes effect July 1, 2010.
