Buildings constructed before July 1, 2010, are not required to display a truss construction emblem unless they undergo expansion or remodeling on or after that date.

Owners of buildings with truss construction must attach a reflective triangular emblem (6 inches wide, 3 inches tall) to the left of the main entrance between 4 and 6 feet above ground, marked with "F" (floor), "R" (roof), or "F/R" (both).

Exemption applies to detached one- or two-family residential structures.

Contractors performing construction, expansion, or remodeling on or after July 1, 2010, are responsible for properly attaching the emblem.

The State Fire Marshal may promulgate rules and regulations for implementation; effective date is July 1, 2010.
