MS HB1196

Amends Section 37-151-8, Mississippi Code of 1972, to allow school districts to use at-risk pupil program funds for general school district operations during any school year when the Mississippi Adequate Education Program (MAEP) is not fully funded by the Legislature.

Maintains existing requirement that school districts specifically target at-risk fund expenditures to implement effective programs serving at-risk students, as determined by the State Department of Education.

Preserves accountability requirements for school districts to account for all at-risk fund expenditures and be held accountable for their use.

Authorization for flexible use of at-risk funds expires and repeals on July 1, 2012.

Effective upon passage.
