Amends Section 49-7-13 of the Mississippi Code to allow municipalities and counties to place snare traps within 100 feet of any street or public road for removing fur-bearing and nuisance animals.

Requires the governing authority of a municipality or board of supervisors of a county to make a finding that snare trap placement is reasonable and necessary to protect public safety on roads and bridges before authorization.

Mandates that snares must be submerged at least 50 percent and allows municipalities/counties to contract with persons to perform this trapping activity.

Maintains existing prohibition on trap placement within 100 feet of streets or public roads for private trappers, with limited exception for snare traps by municipalities and counties.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
