Amends Mississippi Code Section 63-9-11 to allow courts to approve Internet-based traffic safety violator courses for defendants seeking nonadjudication of certain traffic misdemeanors.

Internet-based courses must be conducted by the Mississippi Department of Public Safety or a company or organization based in Mississippi.

Eligible defendants charged with misdemeanor traffic violations under Chapters 3, 5, or 7 of the Mississippi Code can complete at least four hours of an approved course (in-person or Internet-based) to have the violation removed from their driving record.

Defendants must meet eligibility requirements including having a valid Mississippi driver's license, no prior convictions within three years, and paying applicable fines plus a $10 election fee to participate.

Effective date is July 1, 2010.
