Amends Section 43-13-117 of Mississippi Code to add art therapy services provided by a licensed professional art therapist as a reimbursable service under the Medicaid program.

Art therapy services must be provided by a therapist licensed under Section 73-65-1 et seq. to qualify for Medicaid reimbursement.

Amendments become effective only if the hospital assessment provided in 2009 amendments to Section 43-13-145 becomes effective; if the assessment does not take effect, prior Medicaid provisions remain in effect as of June 30, 2009.

The bill takes effect July 1, 2010.
