Amends Section 97-37-7 of Mississippi Code to authorize county prosecuting attorneys, municipal prosecuting attorneys, deputy attorneys general, assistants to the Attorney General, and special assistants to the Attorney General to carry concealed weapons while engaged in performance of their duties.

Requires these prosecutors to complete a weapons training course approved by the Board of Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training before being authorized to carry weapons.

Adds these prosecutorial positions to the existing list of officials authorized to carry firearms, including district attorneys, investigators, judges, and other law enforcement personnel.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
