Students who complete an approved GED program and pass the GED test shall be counted as graduates of their local school district of residence for purposes of calculating district dropout, graduation, and completion rates.

Education credits for students earning a GED certificate from either a local school district or community/junior college GED program shall be allocated to the student's district of residence for graduation rate calculations, regardless of where the program was completed.

Defines "school district of origin" as the local school district where a GED program is established, or for community/junior college programs, the district that contracted with the college to provide GED services.

Students in GED programs administered by local school districts shall be counted as enrolled in their school district of origin for adequate education program funding purposes only, not for regular academic or programmatic purposes.
