Amends Mississippi Code Section 47-5-138.1 to prohibit persons convicted of murder or capital murder from receiving trusty time allowance and sentence reduction benefits.

Adds conviction of murder or capital murder under Section 97-3-19 to the list of offenses that disqualify an offender from trusty status sentence reductions.

Maintains existing trusty time allowance program that permits up to 30 days' sentence reduction per 30 days of approved program participation for eligible offenders.

Effective date: July 1, 2010.
