Amends Section 41-29-139, Mississippi Code of 1972, to establish a new felony offense for possessing or bringing controlled substances into any state, county, or municipal building or facility.

A person found guilty of violating this provision shall be imprisoned for not less than one (1) year nor more than five (5) years and fined not less than $1,000 nor more than $10,000.

The new provision applies to any person who carries or possesses any controlled substance in state, county, or municipally owned buildings or facilities.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
