Amends Section 37-9-103 to include assistant teachers in the definition of "employee" under the Education Employment Procedures Law, requiring they have two continuous years of employment with a school district and hold credentials required by the State Department of Education.

Amends Section 37-9-105 to require school districts to give assistant teachers written notification of nonreemployment on or before April 15 (or within ten days after state education budget approval, whichever is later), using the same procedure as other professional educators.

Extends the same employment protections and notice requirements that apply to teachers, principals, and administrators to assistant teachers.
