Amends Mississippi Code Section 25-5-1 to require public officers removed from office to reimburse the governing authority all remuneration (salary and benefits) received from the date the crime was committed.

Conviction judgments must include the total remuneration with interest as a court assessment, with repayment terms and penalties for non-payment including potential incarceration.

Officers removed from office are barred from employment with the state or any political subdivision until all remuneration plus interest is paid in full.

Applies to public officers convicted of felonies (excluding manslaughter or Internal Revenue Code violations), corruption in office, peculation, or gambling with public funds, or those found to be of unsound mind.

Effective July 1, 2010.
