Prohibits active or retired law enforcement officers and personnel from serving on any grand jury or petit jury in criminal cases in Mississippi.

Makes violation of the prohibition a felony punishable by imprisonment of up to 5 years, a fine of $5,000, or both.

Amends Mississippi Code Section 13-5-1 to add law enforcement disqualification as a juror competency requirement.

Amends Mississippi Code Section 13-5-23 to reference the law enforcement disqualification provision in jury excuse procedures.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
