House Bill 404 Summary

• Requires traffic-control signals on primary roads to display only flashing yellow lights from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. daily.

• Requires traffic-control signals on secondary roads to display only flashing red lights from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. daily.

• Defines "primary road" as highways with functional classifications including interstates, freeways, expressways, and principal or minor arterials as determined by the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

• Defines "secondary road" as highways with functional classifications including collectors and local roads as determined by the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

• Effective date: July 1, 2010.
