Legalize carrying pistols and revolvers, whether concealed or not, on public or private property unless prohibited by applicable federal, state, or local law, rule, regulation, or ordinance.

Amend Section 97-37-1 of the Mississippi Code to exclude pistols and revolvers from the list of weapons prohibited from being carried concealed.

Retain existing exceptions allowing concealed carry of firearms within one's home, place of business, associated property, and motor vehicles for persons over 18 years old.

Retain existing exceptions allowing concealed carry of firearms for persons engaged in legitimate weapon-related sports activities such as hunting, fishing, and target shooting.

Effective date of July 1, 2010.
