Nursing schools and degree programs at state institutions of higher learning and public community/junior colleges that have 100% enrollment during the 2009-2010 academic year are eligible to receive state funding to hire up to four additional faculty members beginning in the 2010-2011 academic year.

Schools and programs receiving this funding must increase enrollment proportionately for each additional faculty member hired with the provided funds.

The Legislature shall appropriate necessary funds to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, State Board for Community and Junior Colleges, and State Department of Education to implement the program.

Expands the purposes for which the Mississippi Workforce Enhancement Training Fund may be used to include funding nursing schools and degree programs at state institutions and public community/junior colleges to hire additional faculty members under this program.

The act takes effect July 1, 2010.
