Prohibits health insurance policies from restricting an insured's ability to assign benefits to a licensed health care provider that provides services to the insured, and voids any such restrictive policy provisions.

Requires insurers to pay benefits directly to a licensed health care provider when an insured provides written direction that benefits be paid to that provider for hospital, nursing, medical, or surgical services.

Amends Mississippi Code Section 83-9-3 to add the assignment prohibition and Section 83-9-5 to add the direct payment requirement for health care providers.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
