County board of education elections would be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2012 and every four years thereafter, coinciding with presidential elections, with members serving four-year terms

Boards of trustees for consolidated school districts and line consolidated school districts would be elected at the same time as presidential elections beginning in 2012, with all five members serving four-year terms

Special municipal separate school districts (where the majority of educable children reside outside municipal limits) would elect their five-member boards of trustees during presidential elections starting in November 2012

Current board members whose terms would otherwise expire after January 2013 would have their terms end on the first Monday of January 2013 to facilitate the transition to the new election schedule

Repeals multiple existing Mississippi Code sections (37-7-221, 37-7-223, 37-7-227, 37-7-229, 37-7-705, 37-7-707, 37-7-709, 37-7-711, 37-7-715, and 37-7-717) that provided alternative methods for electing school district trustees
