Close the Mississippi School of the Arts at its Brookhaven campus and relocate the school to the Mississippi University for Women campus.

Transfer real property at Brookhaven to the Department of Finance and Administration; retain personal property within the State Department of Education for use at the relocated school or transfer unneeded items to the Office of Surplus Property.

Amend Mississippi Code sections 37-140-3 and 37-140-5 to reflect the new location on the Mississippi University for Women campus and repeal section 37-140-17 naming a building on the Brookhaven campus.

Create a School for the Arts Study Committee composed of seven members to study the feasibility of converting the Brookhaven facility into a nursing school and develop a preliminary conversion plan if deemed feasible.

Require the study committee to submit its recommendations and preliminary plan to the Legislature by January 1, 2011, then dissolve; the act takes effect July 1, 2010.
