Renames the "Mississippi Vulnerable Adults Act of 1986" to the "Mississippi Vulnerable Persons Act of 1986," changing all references from "vulnerable adults" to "vulnerable persons" throughout 20 sections of Mississippi Code Chapter 43-47

Establishes a two-tiered investigation timeline requiring the Department of Human Services to initiate abuse or neglect investigations within 48 hours if immediate attention is needed, or within 72 hours if the vulnerable person is not in immediate danger

Defines "vulnerable person" as any minor or adult whose ability to perform daily living activities or protect themselves from abuse, neglect, exploitation, or improper sexual contact is impaired due to mental, emotional, physical, or developmental disability, brain damage, or infirmities of aging

Renames the Vulnerable Adults Training, Investigation and Prosecution Trust Fund to the Vulnerable Persons Training, Investigation and Prosecution Trust Fund, along with renaming the corresponding unit in the Office of the Attorney General

Effective date of July 1, 2010
