Amends Section 73-19-61 of the Mississippi Code to authorize licensed optometrists and ophthalmologists to dispense, fit, and prescribe FDA-approved medicated contact lenses.

Allows optical dispensers to fill written contact lens prescriptions from licensed optometrists or ophthalmologists, provided they direct the wearer back to the prescriber for lens fit verification.

Restricts optometrists from prescribing, fitting, selling, or dispensing medicated contact lenses containing drugs outside their scope of practice.

Effective July 1, 2010.
