General elections for all state elective officers, including Mississippi Supreme Court justices and Court of Appeals judges, shall be held on the Saturday after the first Monday of November, every four years.

Primary elections for state elective offices shall be held on the first Saturday after the first Monday of August, with second primaries held three weeks later on a Saturday.

Court of Appeals judges shall be elected on the first Saturday after the first Monday in November instead of the previously designated day.

State highway commissioners shall be elected on Saturday after the first Monday in November, every four years, at the same time and manner as the Governor.

The act requires submission to the Attorney General of the United States or U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia for Voting Rights Act compliance before taking effect.
