Commends Carole Lynn Meadows, a Gulfport resident and native of Lucedale, Mississippi, for receiving the 2009 Billy Creel Tourism Award for her contributions to Gulf Coast tourism.

Recognizes her service as first woman executive committee member of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Gulfport Redevelopment Commission, board member of Gulfport Main Street, and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Council on Economic Education.

Acknowledges her role as cofounder of the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport, Mississippi's first children's museum, which ranks in the top 50 nationally and received the 1999 Mississippi Attraction of the Year Award and the 2008 Coming Up Taller Award from First Lady Laura Bush.

Highlights her extensive community involvement including roles as Chair of March of Dimes, first woman president of the University of Mississippi National Alumni Association in 1994, and 25 years of teaching experience at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Directs that the award be presented at the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi, on May 3, 2010, and that copies of the resolution be furnished to Meadows and the Capitol Press Corps.
