Commends Dr. John M. and Dr. Vera Mae Perkins as founders of the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation on the occasion of their ministry's 50th anniversary and Dr. John's 80th birthday, celebrated June 10-12, 2010.

Recognizes Dr. John M. Perkins' conversion to Christianity in 1960 and subsequent return to the South during the Civil Rights Movement to spread the gospel and engage in social activism after initially fleeing Mississippi at age 17.

Acknowledges major ministries founded by the Perkins including Voice of Calvary Ministries in Mendenhall, Mississippi (1972), Harambee Christian Family Center in Pasadena, California (1982), and the Christian Community Development Association (1989), which grew to 6,800 members and 600 organizations in over 100 cities.

Notes Dr. John M. Perkins' service as a Korean War veteran (1951-1953), receipt of ten honorary doctorates from various colleges, published authorship of 11 books, and service on 19 or more boards including World Vision and Prison Fellowship.

Extends heartfelt wishes for continued success in the Perkins' future endeavors and directs copies of the resolution be furnished to them, the Foundation's Board of Directors, and the Capitol Press Corps.
