Commends the Bassfield High School Yellowjackets football team for winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 2A State Championship with a 27-13 victory over defending two-time champion Ackerman High School.

Recognizes the team's 14-2 overall record, 5-0 district record, and 14-game winning streak in which they outscored opponents 493-172 points, marking the school's fourth state title.

Honors Head Coach Lance Mancuso as 2009 Mississippi Association of Coaches Coach of the Year, District 8 Class 2A Coach of the Year, and Hattiesburg American Coach of the Year, along with assistant coaches Ryan Higdon, Scott Bass, Donald Nelson, Sean Pounds, Eric Dyess, and Kelly Eubanks.

Recognizes individual player honors including All-State selections for Justin Penn, Marcus Hosey, Josh Myers, and Wilber Myers, as well as District 8 Class 2A awards for defensive and offensive players of the year.

Directs copies of the resolution be provided to Coach Mancuso, Principal Brian Holda, and the Capitol Press Corps.
