Commends Carole Lynn Meadows, a Gulfport resident and native of Lucedale, Mississippi, for receiving the 2009 Billy Creel Tourism Award for her outstanding contributions to Gulf Coast tourism.

Recognizes her service as the first woman executive committee member of the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Gulfport Redevelopment Commission, board member of Gulfport Main Street, and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Council on Economic Education.

Acknowledges her role as cofounder of the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center in Gulfport, the first children's museum in Mississippi, which received the 1999 Mississippi Attraction of the Year Award and the 2009 Governor's Award for Arts in Education.

Recognizes her extensive volunteer work including service as Chair of March of Dimes, 1974 President of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, and first woman President of the University of Mississippi National Alumni Association in 1994.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Carole Lynn Meadows and the Capitol Press Corps, with the award to be presented at the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi on May 3, 2010.
