Has worked at WTVA since 1979, rising from morning and noon meteorologist to Director of Weather Services and currently Chief Meteorologist overseeing three full-time meteorologists

The Silver Circle honors television professionals with 25 or more years in the industry who have made significant contributions to the southern regional market

Rice holds a bachelor of science degree from Troy State University and is a professional member of the American Meteorological Society
