East Rankin Academy "Lady Patriots" won their first Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Overall State Championship on February 27, 2010, defeating Pillow Academy 62-44 at Mississippi College's A.E. Wood Coliseum

Senior guard Brooke Rhodes scored 35 points in the championship game, with Kaitlyn Coghlan adding 14 points for the AAA Champion team that finished the season 35-2 and won their final 16 games

Head Coach Michael McAnally and Assistant Coach Billy Rhodes led the team to victory, easing the heartbreak of the previous year's loss in the overall semifinals

House Resolution 73 commends and congratulates the "Lady Patriots" basketball team and coaching staff for their outstanding 2009-2010 season and championship achievement
