Commends Michael Gavin, an 11th-grade student at Laurel High School in Laurel, Mississippi, for placing third in the Great Seal of the State of Mississippi Art Contest judged by the Mississippi Arts Commission.

Recognizes Gavin's artistic achievement despite being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, which affects social interaction and communication skills.

Highlights Gavin's artwork, which used embellished aluminum platelets, beading, cardboard and paint to enhance and reimagine the state seal, and notes it will be displayed in the State Capitol.
