Amends Mississippi Code Section 43-1-13 to narrow the prohibition on Department of Human Services employees participating in political campaigns to only partisan political campaigns (previously applied to all political campaigns)

Creates an exception allowing DHS employees to seek elective office if the position is nonpartisan and not within the judicial branch of government

Maintains existing penalties for violations: removal from office plus a misdemeanor conviction with fines up to $200

Effective date: July 1, 2010
