MS SB2711

Amends Mississippi Code sections 75-60-5 and 73-7-16 to allow nationally accredited proprietary schools to follow federal accreditation standards for hiring and training faculty instead of state requirements.

Provides that any state statute contradicting federal accreditation standards does not apply to nationally accredited schools, while all other schools must comply fully with applicable state statutes.

Applies the federal standards exemption to both general proprietary schools and cosmetology schools.

Effective July 1, 2010.
