Requires crematoriums to release cremated remains according to written authorization, or deposit them with a court if there is a dispute over disposition.

Mandates crematoriums send written notice by certified mail thirty days after inurnment if remains are unclaimed, requesting disposition instructions.

Allows crematoriums to dispose of unclaimed cremated remains in any lawful manner after 120 calendar days following the mailing of written notification.

Authorizes the Executive Director of the Department of Human Services to provide containers for burial and identification of ashes from indigent persons cremated at public expense if ashes remain unclaimed after twelve months.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
