Clarifies that a $10 assessment is imposed on criminal defendants who post cash, surety, property, or guaranteed arrest bonds, with funds deposited into the Victims of Domestic Violence Fund created under Section 93-21-117.

Assessment is collected by the court clerk and must be collected at the time bonds or recognizances are received or taken.

Assessment is not imposed if defendant is found not guilty, charges are dismissed, prosecutor enters nolle prosequi, case is retired to file, or conviction is reversed on appeal.

State Auditor must establish regulations for timely collection, deposit, accounting, and refunds of all fees and assessments under this section.

Effective July 1, 2010.
