Amends Mississippi Code Section 21-23-8 to clarify that municipal judges have authority to require bond on defendants, specify the type of bond, and set bond amounts using their discretion.

Explicitly adds language stating judges may require cash bonds in addition to other bond types previously authorized.

Maintains existing provisions allowing designated police officers to approve bonds or recognizances when the municipal judge is unavailable, with bond amounts between $50 and $1,000.

Retains bail forfeiture procedures requiring court notification to sureties within 10 working days and a 90-day judgment nisi period before final forfeiture.

Takes effect July 1, 2010.
