Revises definitions in the Mississippi Pharmacy Practice Act, including expanding the definition of "practice of pharmacy" to include prescribing legend drugs and comprehensive drug therapy management as regulated by the Board.

Adds new definitions including "Prescribing Pharmacist" (a licensed pharmacist granted prescriptive authority by the Board) and clarifies that pharmacists are recognized as practitioners and primary health care providers.

Modifies continuing education requirements to include programs approved by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (A.C.P.E.) or programs approved by the Board prior to presentation.

Changes "licensing" language to "permitting" for nonresident pharmacies that ship, mail, or deliver controlled substances or prescription drugs into Mississippi, and requires these pharmacies to comply with Board regulations in the same manner as in-state pharmacies.

Effective July 1, 2010.
