Horn Lake High School "Lady Eagles" won the Mississippi High School Athletic Association Class 6A Girls State Basketball Championship on March 6, 2010, defeating Greenville-Weston 40-28 at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.

The Lady Eagles finished the 2009-2010 season with a 29-2 record and claimed the first state championship title in program history.

Jasbriel Swain scored 14 points and Tia Coleman added 11 points in the championship game, with the team holding a double-digit lead for most of the game.

Head Coach Janna Lyons is commended for leading the team to this achievement while balancing the birth of her one-month-old son during the season.

The resolution directs that this commendation be presented to Coach Lyons and Principal Jim Ferguson, forwarded to the Horn Lake School Board, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
