Recognizes and salutes the Pastor and congregation of First Baptist Church in Morton, Mississippi on their 150th anniversary celebration in 2010.

Church was founded in 1860 by a group of Christians who met in a building on Tank Hill in Scott County, Mississippi.

Notes major milestones in church development including: 1892 purchase of present site with white frame building, 1924 brick sanctuary, 1957 establishment of East Morton Church, 1959 present sanctuary construction, and 1983 Family Life Center completion.

Commends the church's commitment to family and personal devotions, education of children, and its history of charity and civic leadership in the Morton community.

Directs that the resolution be presented to the church's ministry, forwarded to the Mississippi Baptist Convention, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
