Recognizes Dr. John M. and Dr. Vera Mae Perkins as founders of the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation on its 50th anniversary and Dr. John Perkins' 80th birthday, to be celebrated June 11-12, 2010.

Acknowledges Dr. John Perkins' founding of Voice of Calvary Ministries in Mendenhall, Mississippi in 1972, which developed a church, health center, housing, and training programs across multiple communities.

Recognizes Dr. Perkins' 1989 formation of the Christian Community Development Association, which grew to include 6,800 individuals and 600 churches, ministries, and businesses in over 100 cities.

Notes Dr. Perkins' founding of Harambee Christian Family Center in Pasadena, California in 1982 and Harambee Preparatory School in 1995, and his service on 19+ boards including World Vision and Prison Fellowship.

Directs copies of the resolution be presented to the Perkins and the Board of Directors of the John and Vera Mae Perkins Foundation.
