Commends Dr. David Childers of Holly Springs for being named State Veterinarian of the Year 2010 by the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association.

Recognizes Dr. Childers' veterinary career beginning in 1978 after earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 1975, and his ownership of Willow Bend Animal Clinic in Holly Springs and Animal Clinic of Tippah County in Ripley.

Acknowledges his professional leadership as President of the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, nine-year Executive Board Member, and 15-year member of the Liaison Committee for Mississippi College of Veterinary Medicine.

Highlights his community service including service on the Holly Springs School Board, Marshall County Leadership Committee, and as Charter President of the Marshall County Fairgrounds Association.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Dr. Childers, forwarded to the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
